Scanvane is built to collect as little as possible. Here’s exactly what we do.

The free QR generator

Static QR codes are generated entirely in your browser. The text, links, Wi‑Fi passwords and logos you enter are never sent to our servers.

Your account

If you create an account we store your email address, a securely hashed password (we cannot read it), your dynamic codes, their destinations and designs, and your plan. We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies.

When someone scans a dynamic code

To give code owners analytics we record the date and hour of the scan, the device type, operating system and browser (from the user agent), and an approximate country. We do not store IP addresses. To count unique visitors we compute a one-way, salted hash that rotates daily and cannot be reversed to identify anyone.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe’s privacy policy applies to the information you give them.

Sharing

We don’t sell or rent personal data. We share data only with Stripe for payments, or when legally required.

Retention & deletion

Scan statistics are kept for up to two years. You can delete individual codes or your entire account at any time from the dashboard, which permanently removes the associated data.
